Sakartvelo is how Georgians call their country themselves. This word originates from the name “kartavels” which is the name of the nation that lived on the territory of modern Georgia. The ancient Greeks called Georgia “The country of the rising sun”. It is right here where is situated the rock to which Prometheus was chained, and it is right here (in then Colchis) where the Golden fleece was kept that attracted Jason and the Argonauts. In the depths of Georgia there are hidden 2400 mineral water springs. Even the capital Tbilisi is actually located on one of them. Nowadays fresh and mineral water is exported to 24 countries of the world. Here one comes to drink Borjomi, to walk around year round blooming Batumi and to inhale the eternal beauty of the Caucasus mountains.

The cave town Uplistsikhe is one of the first human settlements on the territory of Georgia. And the natural karst caves Sataplia and Tskaltubo spread over many dozens of kilometers interspersed by underground rivers, lakes and grottos.
